trumpeter/ composer sefi zisling incorporates afro-jazz with psychedelic funk in this new solo project. sefi is known as the top trumpeter of tel aviv jazz & funk scene. while still attending high school, sefi performed with various funk and groove acts, laying the foundations for many more musical encounters and fruitful collaborations with other members of the ever-growing tel aviv music scene. sefi performed with bands such as the ramirez brothers, kutiman orchestra, funknstein, gili yalo, and many more. today, after fifteen years of recording and performing all over the world alongside almost everyone within the israeli music scene, sefi is taking a step forward to release his debut solo album.

first ever reissue of “salsita mami” by lisandro meza y su combo gigante, a highy sought-after discos fuentes “salsa dura” classic lp originally released in 1970. lisandro meza is one of colombia’s most talented all around musical giants. equally adept at playing musical instruments as he is at composition and singing, meza has recorded just about every type of colombian genre as well as his own decidedly colombian versions of salsa, afrobeat, funk and disco.

supérieur goes for round two after its relaunch in autumn last year. some of you might be surprised that we re breaking up with the single release concept of having one original and one remix, but we believe the time has come to do so. supérieur will be more independent in the future, with an own artist roaster and also with a different sound than the one deliver with connaisseur. this release is by the highly respected south german producer and dj hans thalau, partisan of the techno soul approach, which was celebrated for years by russ gabriel and his ferox recordings crew. it comes as no suprise that hans and russ are friends. hans -soul adventure ep- is a timeless affair. three tracks full of emotional deepness and classiness, and probably thal communications mastermind best works so far. we re rather proud to be able to release these tunes, as they do strike our chord exactly.

having established himself as a vital figure in the brussels music scene, biologic records co-founder dc salas presents his debut album the unspoken. the 10-track lp features collaborations with fellow belgian electropop duo joy wellboy and mirror minds. after a string of dancefloor oriented eps, he draws inspiration from his live act and diverts away from the club to explore the more melodic aspects of his sound.

this is kollaps first full length album after having gained recognition from releasing vinyl only excursions on grade10 records and remixing work for darkstar on warp records. the record has been pressed on to 180 gram vinyl and is has been mastered at star delta. the album comes with a full colour glossy sleeve and centre labels which reflect the music within. they have had their music played by benji b as well as radio 6 and other more underground radio stations. their last release on grade10 got great reviews in the fader, who said i rarely have the occasion to use the word magnificent, but the releases a-sidean epic 7-minute number titled misery has squeezed all the other words out of my head.

peripheral minimal is proud to present the new 12inch by the french electronic pioneer, philippe laurent, entitled, phoenix. this will be philippes second release on peripheral minimal after the infectious synthetic classic 12inch, mithra. phoenix is a three track ep featuring two brand new tracks on the a-side, phoenix (featuring philippe s trademark robotic vocals), and, agapao. meanwhile over on the b-side, we have the 13-minute electronic opus and highly representative of his early work, exposition 4, a never before released track from philippes extensive archive, and recorded in 1982. the e.p. is representative of philippe s latest forays into contemporary synth music, but still with a retro futurist edge and influenced partly by german pioneers kraftwerk/late 70s kosmische and au courant electro/synthwave acts, fitting into the current enthusiasm for early 80s synth pop and minimal wave. the ep is presented on white vinyl and limited to 300 copies. mastering by martin bowes @ the cage.

for its 6th release, bjarki and johnny chrome silver’s bbbbbb records welcome new signing eod (aka stian gjevik) to their unholy alliance with his swurlk ep . the norwegian born, strictly analog producer takes the label off-roading with four outstanding productions channeling ambient, electro and hard bloody techno. having released on imprints including rephlex and weme records, it was actually on soundcloud that bjarki discovered eod’s music. after getting in touch, the scale of his work emerged as gigabytes of unheard music dating back to 2002 were exchanged, all of which was made without the use of a pc an approach which speaks for itself through his instinctive, playful melodies. swurlk ep boasts an impeccable sense of arrangement, more like that of a composer, and even more impressive considering the absence of any computer. the title track opens with a velvety smooth synth melody building with bass textures.‘evenhark uses a broken beat framework to carry floating harmonies. swarm uses layer upon layer of stuttered percussion to build into a relentless techno cut. elcaset_testgroove pairs catchy, interacting melodies with pensive harmonies. swurlk ep is a must listen for fans of melodic electro and an exciting move from a label that continues to challenge all our fucking expectations

sadar bahar & ben cosmic force team up and come correct with these two direct disco jams artwork by cosmo knex. tipp! the two tracker arose after sadar bahar discovered bens utrecht based studio (housing 60 synths!). electro fiend ben was charmed by the electronic elements in sadars funk and sadar loved bens ideas. nuff said, a new nl based project was born. nothing sampled for these tracks. only stabbing guitar, bass, sax and pounding drum programming for dance floor heat!

after a long hiatus the fasaan recordings crew finally emerges from their basement to break out a second volume of their chalice imprint. functioning as a looser side vehicle to fasaan, chalice is a home for rawer and more uncompromising side projects of the fasaan crew and their extended family. honing in on a murky zone of cheap-sounding machine rhythms and punchy boogie-influenced proto-house sounds, the chalice style is in your face and then out the door just like that: take it or leave it.

this is the last chapter of the full force recordings camp. after 15 years the label has decided to release one last ouput. we hope you all enjoy this last release from us :-)

drummer amir bresler, born in 89, has been established as one of the most sought after israeli drummers, performing in israel and abroad at prominent local and world stage jazz festivals. starting his musical education at the age of 13, amir was first exposed to jazz music at the age of 15 upon his enrollment for the jazz program at the thelma-yellin national high school of the arts from which he graduated with honors. in 2010 amir joined the world renowned bass player, singer and composer avishai cohen, in concerts globally. avishai cohen is considered to be one of the most successful jazz artists in the world today. amir also performed alongside visiting musicians like sam yahel, joel fraham, mark turner, kirk lightsay, dwayne bruno. in addition, amir played with various israeli artists among these are, daniel zamir, omer klein, kutiman, nitai hershkovits, yotam silbrestein, amos hoffman, gilad abro, shai maestro, to name a few. this release is comprised of two tracks, originally composed and recorded for meinl cymbals drummers-videos-series. these tracks were later chosen by amir to be officially released. the first track, afro golden line, is inspired by 70s african high-life music (specially from ghana and nigeria) this is an odd-meter afro-beat track. featuring sefi zislings distinct trumpet melody and uzi ramirez s playful guitar. the second track, fish, is taken from lbts old mixtapes (originally with vocals by kerendun). it was re-recorded at amirs studio while bassist beno hendler & keyboardist nomok composed the third part of the track. both tracks were produced with rejoicer.

after 3 years, jesus gonsev is back again with a full orginal ep on swiss imprint deepartsounds. he collaborated again with the lovely & smooth voice of sarignia bonfà on the song unlimited sky. the track also features a brilliant synth solo by chicago legend glenn underground. the label also hired detroits patrice scott for a jazzy and soulful remix. all this is rounded off by two more stunning tracks that jesus delivers for the ep.

the london based dmk label returns after releases from kuba sojka and stojche with the deepblak recordings label head honcho aybee, with four tracks of deep house on the ‘syntax ep’.

thomas leer is an innovative electronic musician from port glasgow, scotland. he began singing for a local band at age 13, and was writing his own music by 18. by 1977, he had moved to london, where he fronted pressure, a clash­-esque punk group with fellow experimental scottish musician robert rental. after hearing kraftwerk, leer became interested in synthesizers – not long after, he was exploring the experimental techniques of eno, zappa, beefheart, faust, and can. in 1978, thomas released his first single, private plane / international , on his own oblique records that we reissued in 2015. 1979 is a 14-song collection spread across two pieces of vinyl clocking in at 70 minutes. leer says, 1979 was a great year for making music.

paul hester created his cult moon music label in 1997 as a portal for his own productions and sounds. the label was short-lived, with only 3 releases in it s catalogue, all produced by hester himself. those few releases on moon are now highly sought after among house and techno aficionados who are forever seeking that deeper groove. the interesting part of this story, beyond the amazing music that was released, is that there are many other tracks that never saw the light of the day, thus leaving the full moon story untold. the electric wig ep was the first release on the label and is here in fully remastered reissue form, with all racks lovingly transferred from paul hester s private, personal dat stash. classic, deep uk techno sounds from the pre-millenium era, re-presented for the first time for 2017 s dancefloors. across these 2 tracks and 2 lock grooves we are treated to a sound that is timeless and will undoubtedly gain paul hester new fans while reminding those of us who were there in the late 90 s about his subtle and uniquely fresh production style.

having made himself an indispensable member of the uk soul/funk scene, playing live performances of ‘zoology’ to much acclaim, as well as setting up a regular groove night at london’s 606 jazz club, carl has recently finished work on his second album - pixel planet, which tells the story of an alien spacecraft, exploring our solar system, 30.000 years into the future - looking for the last bastion of human activity long after we have departed. this dystopian tale is told using a huge array of cosmic electronics, many of which were soldered together by carl himself, including his own diy synthesiser - the recyclotron 64 - constructed out of commodore 64 chips and built in an mdf box, and providing some of the monster bass lines on this album. as well as calling in the digisoul gang, some new friends appear on this album, including powerhouse drummers pete ray biggin, and ‘jungle’ jimmy norden.

music is love boss returns to his home label after a few brief excursions on hot creations & viva music last year, and he returns in style. 3 summer time slammers and a stellar remix from the mak & pasteman boys. middle ground is a dusty filtered house track, aligned with a soaring string section, which narrate the warm uplifting journey this track lays down. mandingo was made as a tool for oli’s sets last summer and after some huge reactions and some serious demand, mandingo was set for a vinyl release. big stabs and plenty of funk - this track is party ready. on the flip we find mak & pasteman return to music is love after an appearance on the 3rd lovebox va in 2016. piano4 is flipped into what these boys do best, simple stripped back grooves delivered with stupendous power. on b2 is the original take on piano4 which sees oli flexing his power house muscles on this big piano track. piano4 is an unrelenting beast that twists and turns its way through various passages of maximum intent.

amsterdam producers and good friends kaap and scott franka have come together to start a new label and live act: working titles. kaap is best known as the label boss of tape cassette label yield, scott just debuted with his first 12” on quartet series. together they perform primarily hardware based live sessions. for their label they improvise, jam and record to press these takes only on vinyl. the idea is to capture the real, raw and authentic improvised moments as soon as possible after they happen, hence the name working titles. this first vinyl release features the wt001 and wt002 outtakes on one disc. these sessions were recorded by the pair in an abandoned cabin in the woods in the south of holland, surrounded by nature.

repress!!! frame of mind is a new venture initiated by gerd: a label that focuses on re-issuing rare and sought-after tracks as well as on releasing new music. first up we serve you this official re-release of nature boys classic ruff disco volume one. this highly in demand double pack goes for mad money on the second hand market, so after 25 years, a beautifully remastered edition is finally here. nature boys sound is best described as a rough combination of disco infected grooves with raw and hard hitting rhythms. tracks such as the livingroove, ha ha, trackin and of course tobago caused bliss and mayhem on dance floors world wide and brought joy to thousands and thousands of dancers, djs and music collectors all over the globe. this lp displays a fine mixture between house, disco and sometimes even dub/reggae. to this day ruff disco volume one is a timeless work of art.

only few artists in techno music have been able to develop a unique signature in sound like eduardo de la calle did. even after releasing more than 90 vinyl records in almost 20 years, the spanish mastermind is still one of the most enthusiastic persons when it comes to preserving the real people and places in our beloved scene. despite touring the world as a dj and putting out his music on big-name labels, he has always supported small labels and underground institutions around the world. the spiritual approach to electronic music hes teaching with his music has been a big inspiration for many listeners, djs and producers. his latest release on night defined recordings is another precious add-on to his unique lifework of music

a rare look into the discotheque era of waikiki, al nobriga’s “my last disco song” tells of a time when nightclubs lined kalakaua avenue and practically every hotel hosted live entertainment. seven days a week, locals rubbed elbows with visitors in discos like the point after, cock’s roost, garden bar, infinity, duke kahanamoku’s, foxy lady too, valentino’s, hawaiian hut—the list goes on.

without artwork cover - only standard cover (see picture)...ltd warehouse / backstock - the midnite ep is the follow up ep to delano smith s sunrise ep on third ear recordings, released at the end of 2008. the sunrise ep was one of the underground house records of 2009, and the midnite ep is set to be one of the underground house records of 2010. both delano and us think the midnite ep is better than sunrise. after the sunrise ep, we decided to do it again and maintain the theme and name the next ep after a moment, a feeling within the dance floor experience. we decided on midnite. once again we have selected four tracks from a selection that delano sent us. you can play these tracks at any time of the day or night, and we encourage you to experiment in this way. however, dropping any of these tracks at midnite will ensure that you, your dance floor and all the people in the room will be set up for the journey. :-) a1: a special kind is constructed in the classic style of filtered samples from another record over a fat (really fat as this is a record made in detroit) kick drum. the samples are from ashford and simpson s stay free from 1979 on warner bros records. it is a sign of a good dance music producer that s/he can take an already great track and turn it into a dance floor bomb. delano has done this with a special kind. 117bpm. a2: dee s gruv is a very deep, very atmospheric groove. a crisp snare, a growling bass, a kick drum of varying intensity though the track framing the vibe, and a subtly modulating chord that goes on forever. hi-hats and ride cymbal move in and out of the track as it ebbs and flows. this kind of deep, grooving suspension of time is becoming a delano smith speciality. 122bpm. b1: the exploration is delano working through the same ideas as he explores in dee s gruv. hitting harder and driving faster than dees gruv, the exploration is a continuation of delano s search for the ultimate deep house groove. all students of electronic dance music should check this.
